Madrid Barra Tour

Madrid seems like an endless city when it comes to bars, tapas and wines. Here, our former Catadora Rachel Schneidmill who is now a Madrilena gives us a list of her favorite places to drink in the Spanish capital.

El Economato -

Has one of the biggest selections of vermouth in the city and delicious food as well! Original location is in Chueca and is a popular weekend lunch spot.

La Sastrería on Calle Ponzano is a tiny bar with a great selection of hard-to-find vermouths and a nice selection of pinxtos to pair perfectly with the drinks (lots of pickled, vinegary bites!)

Taberna Angel Sierra is one of the oldest bars in the city right on plaza de Chueca. This is where you get a vermut de grifo accompanied by traditional free tapa of olives, potato chip or the best- pickled guindilla peppers.

Taberna La Concha -

A charming tapas bar just minutes from Mercado San Miguel in the La Latina neighborhood. Skip the market and go there instead!

Taberna António Sanchez -

This is the oldest running bar in Madrid.

Vinos 2

This bar is run by a couple who make and sell their own vermouth. It's near the Bilbao metro station.

Bodegas Casas -

A classic Madrid bar where you go specifically for a vermouth and tapa to start your night. Location on Av. de la Ciudad de Barcelona.

Rachel also works for Devour Tour who helped us to create this list. If you plan to travel to Madrid, don’t hesitate to contact them.
