More than just a wine collection

Our store opened in March 2016, but our concept was founded in 2011. We proudly represent the rich history and vibrant culture of the Caribbean, Central America and South America, all integrated in a cultural retail space in the heart of the nation's capital. We sell snacks, groceries and home goods that we hand pick from various regions of Latin America. Learn, taste and enjoy!

Why do we have a Wine Club?

We dedicate ourselves to bringing you the best from our culture by showcasing wines from Latin America and what we call the "Heritage Nations" of España, Portugal and Italy. With our Wine Club, we want to help guide you on your journey to becoming a true Catador.

VAYA CON VINO Loyalty VIP Program: Sign Up for Wine Club and get a universal 10% off all products, all the time, at all locations! You can access this by putting a card on file at the location you frequent the most and allowing us to run it the first of each month for your Wine Club.

Two Wines per Month:
Generally, the wines will be a selection from Latin America and/or the Heritage Nations. Each month will adhere to a theme. Sometimes, we may choose a wine from a region outside of those we focus on in the store to provide better context for the theme of that month. Our goal is to introduce you to new favorites, and/or show you superb bottles from the more well known regions we carry. It's all about educating your palate!

A Release Tasting Every First Saturday of the Month:
We offer exclusive wine tasting connect to the themed of the month in our flagship with the chance to meet other club members while collecting your wine club package.

Wine Classes on demand!

We love showcasing our space and teaching our customers about all the wine regions we have in our store. That’s why we offer two different Wine Classes on Demand for $35 per guest (or $25 for Wine Club Members!) Here’s how they work! 

 
 

OPTION 1

SIT, SIP AND LEARN

Reserve our communal table and sit down to a class lead by one of our catadores to learn more about the wines we showcase in the shop! You will sip (4) wines and cover the basics of the “systematic approach to tasting,” allowing you to appreciate wine at a new level. You’ll also learn about different regions, the effects of climate and soil, wine-making techniques, history, and how to pair wine with food.

We require a minimum of (48) hours advance notice to confirm the class. You’ll need at least (6) guests to reserve the table, and we cap this type of class at (16) guests. The class runs for 90 minutes.

OPTION 2

STAND, MINGLE, CONVERSE

With this option, you’ll have a more casual experience tasting (4) wines. While we will introduce and briefly talk about each wine, the focus here is on you being able to move about freely. The Catador leading the class will mingle with you as well and discuss the wines in a more intimate setting. Feel free to ask any questions you have about the wines we serve, wine in general, grape-growing, regions, you name it.

We require a minimum of (48) hours of advance notice to confirm the class. You’ll need at least (15) guests to reserve the space, and we cap this type of class at (30) guests. The class runs for up to 2 hours.

 

Events at Grand Cata!

 

We offer the Grand Cata experience in any of our locations to host wine classes, off-sites and buyouts. Perfect excuse to celebrate with friends, family, work colleagues and neighbors.

Additional info:

After every event we offer 10% OFF on all wine purchases to all participants. Guests can also bring in their own snacks. Our events offer a perfect way to celebrate birthdays, have fun with friends and family, and build team chemistry within your company.
