Wine Club: It's Time to Celebrate!

As we draw near to the close of not just a year, but a decade, we feel Wine Club needs to be even more special this December! The last (nearly!) four years have treated us at Grand Cata very well, and we are humbled and honored by the support we’ve received from all of our patrons, and especially Wine Club members.

When we think celebration and holidays, we think bubbles! We found a gorgeous expression of the highest category of Prosecco from the DOCG Valdobbiadene in northeastern Italy. The hills here mostly face south, leading to full ripeness, while the cooler average temperature from the northern latitude helps capture acidity. The result is a wine full of golden apple notes, white flowers, and a silky mouthfeel.

The other wine we picked demonstrates one of the pillars of our mission at Grand Cata: to find and showcase stellar wines from South America with a sense of place that represent extraordinary value. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Cuvelier Los Andes has everything we look for in great Cab Sauv. The balance of fruit to savory tones is sublime, the structure is solid yet inviting, the acidity is perfect. Everything about this wine just works.
